This is the ultra sound at almost 20 weeks! Today I'm 25 weeks and now experiencing tremendous, nearly constant movement of this very active boy! I'll compare it to the idea that maybe he has taken up bowling!? Or maybe horseback riding in there? The next person that says "have you felt him kick" is going to get kicked themselves. This isnt a cute little jab or poke that makes you say "awww" but a constant hour of flips and turns from all corners of my belly! It's like the clock work from 5am - 6:30am. I've told him I want him out of there as much as he seems to be trying to get out!
This week also has made me feel like I can't get enough sleep. Not feeling extremely tired but at any moment I can fall into a deep nap for 2-3 hours and feel good and recharged at least for the next few hours until it will be nap time again. I feel my nutritional needs changing and I think finally after 2 days of figuring it out I am set with the increased needs for now. Its been quite the challenge to balance the nutrients from my foods with the supplements while considering my picky eating habits and cravings. My needs change so fast I feel like I am always playing catch up!
Here are the most important daily items that I have not been able to do without!
MACA ROOT POWDER - if you skip a day......you will know it, 1 tsp added to smoothies or just plain water it has a great malty taste. Energy, stamina, hormone balancing to name a few!
RAW HONEY - 1 spoonful a day! It has to be raw, and should be local if you want to set yourself up for a pollen free alergy spring after winter. This is the sugars you want for your own blood sugar balancing. It is your immune defense for winter sickies and in return for all of this you feel energized.
RAW APPLE CIDER VINEGAR - add the honey to this and dilute with water and drink a shot everyday! Too many benefits to list! There is nothing this doesnt cover!
FLAX OIL - 1 - 2 TBLS daily added to smoothies is perfect! Essential fatty acids you can only get by supplementing. The babies developing brain food and your mental & hormonal life savor as well.
COCONUT WATER - no matter how much water I drink I still feel dehydrated but with only drinking 1-2 8 oz cans of this a week eliminates those symptoms especially in the morning! It is natures gator-aide. Read the label - it should only say 100% coconut water (juice). The big price difference you will see will be directly related to the label - cheaper brands dilute the pure juice with water and then sweeten it back up with sugar.
DARK CHOCOLATE - Yes! at least 70 % dark! It's balance of nutrients and fats is wonderful! Iron alone is at 30% per 3oz. Don't confuse this with Hershey's or other milk and sugar diluted products and I'm not talking about eating a whole bar in one day. One 4 oz bar will last me all week with enjoying a couple squares at a time!
Vitamins / minerals - the key here is to take vitamins in the morning and afternoon and save your minerals for night time. The added benefit of taking calcium and magnesium at night before bed is a relaxing wonderful nights sleep - try it! Remember vitamins are water soluble and need to be replenished through out the day to maximize their energizing effect!
It's a full time job taking care of ourselves, but if we don't we will not be any good in helping others especially our family. Too many women exhaust themselves in taking care of the needs of their kids, husband, and friends only to be left unable to finish the task because they physically and mentally can't keep up! It's worth the time and money to tend to your needs first so then you have something to give to others. :)
